Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is handled when using the charting, divination and related pages at fengshui.tools. The same policy appears in every language version. Effective date: 15 October 2026.

1. Scope

This policy applies to every charting and divination tool, lookup page, result page and explanatory text at fengshui.tools, and to messages sent through the Contact form. Questions about this policy may be submitted through that form.

2. Information collected

Each form submission creates one record tied to that calculation. The record holds the tool used, the page language, the time of submission and every value entered in the form.

Depending on the tool, the values may include a birth date, birth hour and gender for date-based tools (Four Pillars, Zi Wei Dou Shu, Chinese zodiac, Eight Mansions life trigram, almanac lookup and similar); surname and given name for naming and name-scoring tools; and a company name for company-name scoring. If a birth city is chosen, its name and the linked country, region and coordinates are stored too. Charting and divination ask for no email address and no phone number; an email address is given in two situations only: writing through the contact form, and signing in with an emailed code. A sign-in account is that address, with no password and no phone number attached to it.

3. Purposes of use

The information is used only to run the calculation for that submission, to show the same result again when its link is opened, to handle and answer contact messages, and to issue and check the code used for signing in. The values are not used to build any other product or service.

4. Result links and confidentiality

A result link is the only way to open that calculation. Anyone who has the link can read the board. Such links are not listed in a public directory on the site and are not actively promoted as landing pages for public search. If a link carries someone else's birth data or other identifying details, the holder should keep it secure and should not disclose it to a wide audience.

5. Contact form

The contact form requires a valid email address and optionally takes a form of address, a topic, the message body and a result-page link. That material is used only to process and answer the message. Where outbound mail is configured, an acknowledgement is sent first and a substantive reply follows.

6. Cookies, access records and outside services

Chart form pages set a session cookie so a submission can be matched to the current browsing session; the cookie marks a session, not a named account. Each visit logs an IP address, a time and the page address requested, for running the service and fixing faults only.

Traffic is served over HTTPS. Outside services involved are mainly hosting and backup for the site, mail delivery (sign-in codes and acknowledgements of contact messages), and a human-verification service that checks whether a submission is from a person when it is enabled and is not contacted when it is not. Birth-related data is processed only as far as those tasks require; human-verification traffic may cross national borders.

7. Sale, profiling and automated decisions

  • No sale, rental or other paid exchange of the information described here.
  • No user profiling from the values entered, and no decision based solely on automated processing that produces legal or similarly significant effects for a data subject. Scores, favorable or unfavorable marks and direction labels on a result page are outputs of fixed rules applied to the values entered, not an assessment of any person.

8. Retention

Chart records do not expire automatically, so a result link can reopen the same calculation when needed. A sign-in code is kept for ten minutes and deleted as soon as it is used or expires; asking for an account to be deleted removes the address it was built on. Contact messages are kept while they are being handled and afterward as correspondence. Technical access information is not kept for long-term trend analysis.

9. Children

A birth date and birth hour are personal information. Anyone under 16 should use the charting tools only through a guardian who submits on their behalf or with that guardian's clear consent.

10. Subscriptions and payments

If this site offers a paid subscription or usage allowance, the payment provider processes the billing email, transaction identifier and subscription status. Chart parameters are not sent with the payment instruction. Refunds and cancellation follow the Terms and the payment provider's rules.

11. Changes to this policy

Revisions update the body and the effective date at the top together. If what is collected, why it is used or how it is processed changes in a material way, a short summary of the change is added in this section.
